The most common treatments for melanoma patients are surgical intervention and chemotherapy ,even though it has been pointed out that these treatments are not being affective enough. It has been estimated that the survival median of the patients with stage four malign melanoma is only eight months. In addition to all of this, the chemicals used in therapies cause some severe side effects. So the aim of this project is to develop an alternative treatment for melanoma that will not cause severe side effects. For achieving this goal we want to approach the problem with an less chemical and more natural way. For this reason we decided on working with 7 plants extracts. We found that 2 of them were highly effective on melanoma cells. Moreover, we have investigated the effects of baby's breath and safflower on the proliferation, colonization and migration of melanoma cells for the first time in the literature.
