About Solvatten
Solvatten was established in 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden. The primary focus of the organization is to produce and sell Solvatten to governmental and non-governmental partners around the world. The company also facilitates Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects and carbon offsetting projects. Through such partnerships, Solvatten has been brought to thousands of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people.
Solvatten is both a limited company and a not-for-profit fundraising organization, both of which share a combined vision of bringing safe, warm water to the billion people who need it.

Research Area: For instance, using natural resources and energy to eliminate/reduce pathogenic material from water sourced from contaminated wells.
Achievements: A study (Diop, B. S. (2012) Sanitary, economic and environmental impacts of Solvatten in the West African peri-urban context: case of Dialakorodji, Bamako (Mali). University of Dakar, Senegal) has shown that the use of SOLVATTEN is associated with health improvements in communities that are dependent upon contaminated water resources. It showed that it eliminated 100% of pathogenic material from water sourced from contaminated wells, whilst its use was also associated with as 60% reduction in diarrheal infections in children under five years old.
