Smart Home Assistive Technology

Many smart home products are often expensive and not simple to use. They are often not designed for people that actually need them, e.g. people with hearing impairments. I tried to help some hearing impaired people I know with this project.
I've made a home automation technology designed for people with disabilities. It is cost-effective (about per module) and easy to use. It's based on Arduino and ATtiny85 microcontroller unit.
All modules connect to a 'bridge' via 433 MHz radio link. Bridge then connects this network to your phone.
Each device (channel) has to be given a name. There are input and output channels. Input channels collect data from the environment and send a notification to your phone when an event happens (e.g. when a microphone hears a very loud sound). Output channels do something, e. g. flash an RGB LED, or turn on air conditioning (with infrared diode).
Recipes are small, user-defined programs that connect an input and an output channel. For example, a deaf person can make an RGB LED channel blink when someone rings the doorbell.
This technology is easy to use and new modules can be added to the system easily. The idea behind it was shown in the video. I will add more modules to the network and improve existing modules. I will also connect this network to services such as E-mail, SMS...

Opis v slovenščini:
Izdelki, ki naredijo vašo hišo pametno, so pogosto predragi in premalo preprosti za uporabo. Pogosto niso primerni za ljudi, ki jih dejansko potrebujejo (npr. naglušni ljudje). Izdelal sem tehnologijo avtomatizacije doma, ki je prilagojena ljudmi s težavami, kot so sluh in gibalne težave. Je poceni za izdelavo (materiali za vsak modul stanejo okoli 5 dolarjev) in lahka za uporabo. Temelji na Arduinu in mikroprocesorju ATTiny85.
Vsi moduli se povežejo z 'mostom' prek 433-megaherčne radijske povezave. Ta most nato 'premosti', poveže to omrežje s telefonom.
Vsaki napravi (kanalu) določimo ime. Obstajajo vhodni in izhodni kanali. VHODNI kanali zbirajo podatke iz okolja in pošljejo obvestilo telefonu, ko se zgodi nek dogodek (npr. ko mikrofon zasliši zelo glasen zvok). IZHODNI kanali nekaj naredijo, npr. poblisknejo z barvno LED diodo in tako opozorijo gluhega na nek dogodek. Lahko tudi, na primer, vklopijo klimatsko napravo (prek IR diode).
RECEPTI so majhni programi, ki jih nastavi uporabnik. Povežejo vhodni in izhodni kanal. Tako lahko, na primer, gluha oseba izdela recept, ki ga bo vsakič, ko bo sprožen zvonec, opozorila z bliskom barvne LED diode.
Ta tehnologija je enostavna za uporabo in novi moduli se zelo hitro lahko dodajo obstoječemu omrežju. Ideja je bila prikazana v videu. V prihodnosti sem imel namen dodati še več takih modulov k omrežju in izboljšati obstoječe ter povezati to omrežje s storitvami, kot so klici, E-pošta, SMS...
