In our #scichallenge2017 project we decided to produce vermicompost by using Eisenia foetida earthworms.We feed worms with the food waste that we took from our houses and school, and then they produce organic solid and liquid compost for us. So, we did four experiments in order to test the efficiency of organic compost.
1. Soilless agriculture with liquid organic compost tea
2. Tissue culture to observe the effect of liquid vermicompost on preventing microbial development
3. Planting with solid compost by comparing it with flower soil
4. Planting with solid compost by comparing it with flower soil and NPK fertilizer to measure biomass
If we raise awareness of our peers about food recycling, tons of waste nutrients will be recycled in every house or every apartment for the sustainable environment and sustainable energy.
