Internet Of Things
The "Internet of Things" is the network of physical objects such as devices, vehicles, buildings and other items that are embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity. These features enable all these objects to connect, collect and exchange data. The network of interconnected devices creates a so-called ‘smart environment’ that can be applied to homes (smart home), cities (smart cities), schools (smart schools) and many more fields.
The Internet of Things uses Machine-to-Machine communication technologies to exchange information between the smart objects consisting of the Internet of Things. The Internet of Things is already present and is expected to gain widespread acceptance in the near future. But the future world of interconnected devices is already visible and we will face many new challenges in the future.
Internet Of Things At Present: There are already real life examples of smart objects that constitute the Internet of Things. A major challenge however lies in the role of humans.
Risks And Challenges: The Internet of Things basically means that all our daily things are connected. However, there are many challenges and risks related to it.
Applications: The Internet of Things enables smart environments such as smart homes, smart cities, smart schools etc. Smart environments (will) change the way people are used to communicate and interact with their environment and with other people around them.
Smart Vehicles: Vehicles are becoming smart by being embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity. They will be able to collect data from the roads as well as to exchange data with other vehicles.
